This has been an exciting week! Dr Seuss was definitely on the loose at Prairie Valley. Students enjoyed a visit form "The Cat in the Hat" himself. I guess you could say he took over the school. We found him answering the phone, cooking lunch, driving the bus, building in the shop, and even sitting at the principals desk.

Students enjoyed a book reading by The Cat in the Hat and a balloon launch to celebrate Dr Seuss' birthday. My kindergarten class made and enjoyed green eggs and ham after reading the book Green Eggs and Ham. We discovered just how many "feet" tall we are, made our own Cat in the Hat using construction paper shapes. We played "The Cat in the Hat I Can Do That". Each student completed a glyph of the Cat in the Hat which we displayed in the hall for other students to enjoy.

Snow day #2 underway. Just received a call that there will be temporary planned power outages to prevent severe power outages today. I guess I will make some hot chocolate and crawl back in bed. But until then I am going to continue to figure out this blogging. I am excited about Valentines Day being just around the corner. I made a color by number page that I hope to figure out how to add to my blog today. I am also working on a rhyming game that is very similar to the game "Sequence".  My 7yr old helped me cut scraps from magazines last night to prepare for a craft I plan to do next week. It is a craft I saw on another sight, but I will take a picture of it for you to see in case you are in need of a new valentine craft.

Balancing Act

Good afternoon, what an exciting day this has been already! I think I chose the perfect name for my blog, Jeannie's Busy Bees. My life does not feel normal if I am not constantly on the go. While trying to create this blog today I have encountered several detours. My handsome lovable but strong willed 2 yr old decided to paint his toenails and my bathroom floor. Just as I get that cleaned, dad decides we all need to go help him work cattle. Oh the joys of farm life. Now 4 hours later, cattle are worked, kids bathed, daughter dropped off at birthday party and mr pink toes is taking a much needed nap. Typical Saturday and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I would love to hear what other teacher/moms are balancing this weekend. I am hoping to post a quick glance into my schedule for this upcoming week along with some activities you might find useful.
